Two finishes to share.....

Image
I have been stitching a bit - and wanted to share my two recent finishes. First is a cute freebie by Paulette at Plum Street Samplers I finished it as a small pillow (and yes, I do know the fabric side isn't as big as the stitched side - that was on purpose...). I like how it turned out. The linen is Lakeside 32 ct Pearled Barley & the finishing fabric is from Blackbird's Harvest Home collection. Next is a Blackbird Designs Stocking from the December book. It's for someone in the Monthly Ornament exchange I'm in. I sent it yesterday but since she has no idea who is sending to her, it's okay to post it now! :-) Sure do hope she likes it. It's on an R&R fabric (Cafe Kona maybe?) using the GAST/WDW it called for. I think she will like it (fingers crossed anyway)! That's all for the moment, but I have seen some WONDERFUL new releases from Market that I can't wait to get my hands on! :-) Thanks for stopping by & Happy Stitching!!

Tote Bags....

Image
I have been making a few tote bags (with more to come!) - here are some pictures: The first one (above) is Nicoles - it's made from Moda "Glace" fabrics - she picked them out herself and I think it turned out pretty, love her fabric choices. I also made a zipper bag to match. She has GREAT pics on her blog - so check it out ! This one was for Barbara who owns the quilt shop in Sumter. Her fabric choices were from the Moda "Boutique" line by Chez Moi - and she really liked it! The next two are FOR SALE - both are Moda "Nature's Chorus" by April Cornell.... (the pictures are clickable for larger views): #1 - Spring Greens - #2 - Spring Blues.... Here are some closer pics: The top - Handles.... Bottom..... Sitting.... These totes are great for stitching, knitting, etc. They're all made from Moda quilting fabrics and Pellon Fusible Fleece (2 layers of fleece). The size for each is approx. 16" tall (from sitting to top edge of bag)...

Great Mail on Friday.....

Image
I won (yeah!) a drawing on Myra's blog for a WONDERFUL & ADORABLE paisley bag and it came on Friday! It's just too darn cute - love the paisley and the wild colors, makes me smile when I look at it! Thank you again Myra for being so very generous!! I "borrowed" Myra's pic - it's much better than any I could take - that's for sure! I had a great day today - Nicole came up & we did a bit of shopping, went out to lunch & then spent the afternoon stitching. What a wonderful way to spend a day! She picked up her tote bag I made and I *think* she liked it. :-) We also dropped off the one I made for Barb who owns the quilt shop in Sumter, and she seemed to really like it as well. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.... I've started a new project & hope to get to stitch a bit every evening. I've seen a few things coming from Market that I'm VERY anxious to get - and can't wait to see more! :-) Don't you love this time of ye...

ISO Just Nan Strawberry Heart....

I'm now on a search for Just Nan's Strawberry Heart. I'd love to find it with the embellishment, but if not, just the pattern would be great. Does anyone have it for sale or trade, or loan possibly? If so, please let me know! amycspals@yahoo.com Thanks & happy stitching, Amy

Happy Valentine's Day!

Image
Happy Valentine's Day! Today is our anniversary & we have been married 22 years! Where does the time go so quickly? I decided the other day I wanted to stitch something for "Valentine's Day", so I pulled out two "older" SB kits I've had in my stash. These are "Grow Love" and "Heart Treat Bag". Here's a closer pic of "Grow Love". I decided to make some ruched sheer ribbon trim & add some pearls - looks pretty (I think) but took forever! ;-) I thought it might add "something" to such a small, simple design. And here are the final snow pictures from Saturday morning. We had approx. 4" to 5" I think. As you can see, LOTS of snow for SC. It was pretty and there is still a bit on the ground, but the roads are clear. They are saying we might get more tomorrow - I hope they are wrong! ;-) The birds were covering these feeders yesterday a.m. We just missed getting a picture of a beautiful cardin...

It's SNOWING.... 2-12-2010

Image
Snow is a rare occurrence here, esp. in the middle of Feb! Here are some pics Ray took - the early ones were taken between 5:30 & 6 p.m. The others were taken around 9 p.m. It's still snowing like mad too! I don't like cold, but it really is pretty..... and our niece is estatic! lol Looking out the backdoor.... (around 6 p.m.) Out the front window around 6 p.m. Front door around 9 p.m. Back around 6 p.m. Back around 9 p.m. This car came from FL, so it's likely the first time it's "seen" snow! ;-) Too cold to put the top down for a ride tonight!! ;-) Thanks for looking & happy stitching!!
